![]() Yes rewards are tied to the alignments (sorta) but they are tied to very certain skill sets and the infamous empire quests. But past that is the lack of reward/ effect on game play. The alignment system does have its problems, one being completely binary, not my thing these days since KotOR. ![]() However, this is both more complicated and harder to learn. ![]() (for the record, above would give -400/-300/-200/-100/0/100/200 alignment to declarations on PureGood through PureEvil alignments themselves, with evil always being negative numbers. I've once spent some time on this, and I couldn't find a better idea than "Declare war gives - ( + 100) alignment", which is both complicated and arbitrary as well(based on opinion). If you got a better idea, I'd love to hear it. And while the current system might not be completely realistic, it has the advantage of being simple, which is key to the ability to manipulate it for the players. The Goblins Succubi actually look kinda cute. Can't say that about the bards, or that they'd inspire me for anything else but running away really fast.Īs for the topic at hand, I've yet to read a better breakdown of how much alignment to give for everything that sounds a better plan than current, or even less arbitrary. Goblin Succubi are bad? You obviously didn't build any Bards.
